Pride of Britain members make the “Top 100”

Twenty Pride of Britain Hotels make the Hoteliers’ Hotels Top 100

Almost half of the hotels within Pride of Britain Hotels 48-strong membership have been recognised in the inaugural Hoteliers’ Hotels Top 100 list, unveiled by The Caterer and Sky on 13th July 2016.

The prestigious list was compiled by the UK’s leading hoteliers, AA inspectors, senior editors at The Caterer, leading hotel journalists and hotel experts. Hoteliers were not permitted to vote for their own hotels or hotels within their group.

Three Pride of Britain Hotels made it into the top 10: The Goring in London (3rd), Lucknam Park near Bath (7th) and Gravetye Manor in West Sussex (9th).

A further 17 member hotels were voted into the top 100.  They are Foxhill Manor (17th) and Dormy House (18th) in Worcestershire; Calcot Manor (20th), Barnsley House (42nd) and Ellenborough Park (61st) in Gloucestershire; Hartwell House in Buckinghamshire (30th); Rockliffe Hall (38th) and Seaham Hall (84th) in County Durham; Northcote in Lancashire (45th), Bodysgallen Hall (46th) and Grove of Narberth (95th) in Wales; The Capital (57th) and The Arch (76th) in London; South Lodge in West Sussex (67th); Gilpin Hotel in the Lake District (68th), Hambleton Hall in Rutland (70th) and The Chester Grosvenor (74th).

There were also six further categories which highlighted the three best hotels within each. They are Best Boutique Hotel, Best City Hotel, Best Countryside Hotel, Best Family Hotel, Best Food Hotel and Best Spa Hotel. Again, Pride of Britain Hotels featured prominently as follows:

  • The Goring was named Best City Hotel
  • Calcot Manor was named Best Family Hotel
  • Lucknam Park was voted second in the Best Countryside Hotel and third in the Best Spa Hotel categories
  • Pride of Britain Hotels’ founder member Maison Talbooth in Essex came third in the Best Boutique Hotel category
