Created by Lionel de Rothschild in the 1920s, Exbury Gardens are a stunning vision of his inspiration and perfectly reflects the ‘changing moods of nature’ as once described by Head Gardener, Thomas Clark. The world renowned garden offers 200 acres of serene woodland and horticultural variety, making it a calming contrast to its neighbouring city of Southampton.
Come spring time Exbury Gardens bursts into life. Take a stroll through the famous Rhododendron and Azalea garden and admire the Daffodil meadow as well as a myriad of beautiful flowers everywhere you turn.
Jenkyn Place Vineyard
Jenkyn Place is a boutique, family-owned estate set in the idyllic Hampshire countryside. The vineyard was established in 2004 with excellence in mind and designed and planted to produce top quality, award-winning English sparkling wines.
It produces a Brut Cuvée, a Sparkling Rosé and a Blanc de Noir, made in the traditional method from classic grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The 12 acres of vineyards are located on sheltered, south-facing slopes, straddling the 100m contour of Hampshire’s North Downs. The soil, greensand over marlstone, is perfectly suited to Champagne varieties.
