Located within the 12-acre grounds of Sopwell House Hotel, a stunning 18th Century Georgian manor house, 16 glamorous country Mews retreats are ready for those seeking home from home luxury coupled with the benefits of the hotel’s elegant restaurants and spa.
Set behind private gates The Mews are a surrounded by manicured botanical gardens, complete with a bubbling infinity edged hydrotherapy pool exclusively for Mew Guests . Adding a final touch of comfort are the individual courtyards, in-room roll top baths, four poster beds and private hot tubs that can be found in some Mews Suites.
Access to The Club at Cottonmill Spa includes the Whisper Room, with central fireplace, sumptuous loungers and floor to ceiling glass windows, the Deep Relaxation room with four senses pods that soothe and cocoon, and of course the Garden and Garden room with Indoor, outdoor hydrotherapy pool, hot tubs double cabanas and a warming outdoor firepit surrounded by deep sofas, perfect for those longer autumnal evenings.
Guests are invited to make the most of the saunas, steam rooms, and experience showers that can be found through the three story £14m spa or to simply enjoy the barefoot luxury vibe with fluffy robes, naps in front of the fire with views out to the countryside, and a glass of something bubbly or a herbal tea to really set the mood.
Ancient wisdom says that immersing your body in hot sand eases the symptoms of many medical conditions, including aching joints and muscle pain, so for the ultimate in relaxation therapy we invite guests to book a Sound and Sand treatment on our warming Amber and Quartz crystal bed (*)where you lay enveloped on bed of comforting warm amber sand, with gentle vibrations relaxing your back and neck area. Beginning with gentle stretches, singing bowls are chimed before a pressure point scalp massage helps clear the mind followed by a back, neck and shoulder massage to complete the experience.
During your stay you can also enjoy Afternoon tea with Chamomile or Lemon and Ginger, both known to help with relaxation and sleep generally before retiring to the lounge to while away the afternoon with a good read, or to head back into the spa and sleep off the mid-afternoon treats.
In the evening enjoy a relaxed dinner in The Brasserie after some serious R&R in the Spa, or if you prefer, stay in your robes and enjoy comfort food from the Brasserie kitchen delivered to your room and enjoyed at your leisure.
On the second evening, dine in Omboo, inspired by the flavours of Asia. Eastern tradition view all food as having health properties to create a balance in the body. Many dishes in Asian have ingredients that encourages well-being, one of the most important, is sleep. Using ingredients such as lotus roots, lily bulb, salmon, lemongrass, ginger, pomegranates, mandarins and nuts; we have curated a special set menu to reduce oxidants in the body, promote healthy digestion and ultimately a good night’s sleep.
Luxury eye masks and a relaxing bedtime sleep spray before bedtime will induce a long, restful slumber. A lazy breakfast in bed followed maybe by a last little nap before checking out and returning to reality.
