Oak Room Restaurant

Haute cuisine is served in the glass-domed Oak Room Restaurant complemented by attentive, yet discreet service. Breakfast is taken in the Oak Room Restaurant where you can enjoy beautiful views of the gardens and lawns. The restaurant is also open for lunch, and in the evenings fine cuisine is enjoyed to the quiet accompaniment of a tinkling grand piano.

Executive Head Chef Michael Lloyd has brought his individual style of modern British dining to Tylney Hall and with a team of 19 is responsible for overseeing all of the hotel’s dining, including the 2 AA Rosette Oak Room Restaurant, lounge dining, room service and conference and banqueting. Michael has worked at a number of fine-dining restaurants and country house hotels and is passionate about the training and development of young chefs and is supporting the three apprentices from Bournemouth College who are currently learning the ropes in the kitchen at Tylney Hall

The Home of Jane Austen in Hampshire

Just outside of Alton, and a ½ hour drive away from Milestone Museum, is the humble home of the iconic author Jane Austen. Austen lived the last seven years of her life in the quaint farm house where she spent her time revising and writing her most famous works including ‘Mansfield Park’, ‘Emma’ and ‘Persuasion’. Visitors are welcomed in to this charming home to attend workshops based on writing techniques used by Jane Austen herself, and to exhibitions that pay tribute to the incredible literature she created. Tickets are reasonably priced at £7.50 per adult and £2.50 for children aged 6-16 years.

Hampshire’s Steam Railway

Watercress Steam Railway is located approximately 40 minutes from Tylney Hall Hotel, and is a lovely day out for those who like to voyage through the great outdoors. The Watercress Line is part of the old British Railway, and it is the aim of Mid-Hants Railway Preservation Society to operate and exhibit steam engines for the benefit of its visitors. In order to educate those of all ages the Watercress invites the younger train lover to events like the ‘Peppa Pig’ day where children under the age of 2 entering for free, and children aged 2-16yrs can enter for £7.

A Day Outdoors in Wellington Country Park

Wellington Country Park is situated in 350 acres of striking parklands and is a 15 minute drive north from Tylney Hall Hotel. There are four trails for visitors to explore, that meander through the charmed landscape of Wellington. Family days out can be relished with a number of facilities that include adventure play areas, animal farm and petting barn, enchanted forest and a water play zone.
