Step through the front doors, you’ll be greeted by a floor-to-ceiling glass wine vault, brilliantly bathed in blue and green hues of light.

Just beyond, a stunning mural depicting the 1976 Judgement of Paris. Look down to see 5,000 bottles of wine underfoot – a mere sample of the 30,000 bottle collection. Now that’s a cellar to write about. Many do and a great many more discover iconic wines they never would have, had they not had the pleasure of tasting them here at The Vineyard.

‘A temple to Californian wine’ with 3,000 bins and 100 wines by the glass on offer. That it’s considered to be one of the best wine hotels outside of London will come as no surprise. Expect fine dining to match fine wines. The Vineyard boasts a 3 AA Rosette restaurant, simple, seasonal perfection. Eat, sleep and drink. Bacchus approved. Life really is too short for poor wine.

What the Experts Say

“Britain’s best wine hotel will appeal to less ‘mature’, millennial plonk drinkers as well as more ‘vintage’ oenophiles. Don’t miss the eight-course tasting menu paired with not one – but two – wines per dish.”
