The gardens at Inverewe are one of the most popular tourist attractions in Scotland, with a variety of exotic plant species. There are extensive views from both high and low vantage points of the Loch (Ewe) as well as the surround Highlands and out to sea. The gardens are open from the end of March to the end of September.
The Torridon
Annat By Achnasheen, Wester Ross
Wind your way through the glen to the shores of Loch Torridon, arrive in 58 acres of parkland estate and the fairytale-like turrets will soon come into view.
Remote, romantic, atmospheric and undoubtedly one of the most spectacular hotels in the Highlands, welcome to The Torridon.
Completed in 1887, expect Victorian opulence merged with contemporary Highland style, roaring log fires, a sumptuous lounge and classical Whisky & Gin Bar. Look up in the drawing room at the zodiac ceiling – Queen Victoria was fascinated with astrology. Experience the field-to-fork ethos from the two-acre kitchen garden and farm, home to Highland cows, pigs, fruit, herbs and vegetables. Rest, knowing this hotel is ecologically sound and recognised for a commitment to sustainability.
At day’s end step outside and look to the stars; Torridon has some of the country’s darkest skies. Settle into a deep slumber, enveloped in glorious tranquillity.
