From the moment you set eyes on The Chester Grosvenor you know you are in the presence of a grand dame.

The mix of regal pillars and a half-timbered façade are reminders of the centuries that this building has stood, taking pride of place on one of Chester’s most famous streets. Allow yourself to be warmly ushered through to entrance hall by a top-hatted doorman and take in the jaw-dropping reception. Few can avoid standing in awe.

Known as an icon of style – from the day it opened to great fanfare in 1865 to the present day. That magic has remained. A 28,000-piece chandelier dominates the central stairwell, the plushest carpets, original features, so perfect they could have been forged yesterday. Walls of art worthy of a much-visited gallery. The urge to don your finest attire and simply waft around, Martini in hand, kicks in from the get-go.
