The Highlands of Scotland are recognised as one of the most beautiful places in the world to visit. Breathtaking scenery, clan history and culture, plentiful castles, majestic lochs, world class golf courses, the iconic North Coast 500 route, whisky distilleries and many activities around the scenic hills and glens, makes the Highlands the perfect destination.
Taking in the dramatic canopy of trees, the gated entrance and the sweeping driveway that leads up to Ness Walk, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’re in the middle of the Scottish countryside. But what makes this Highlands hotel so unique is its promise of a beautifully secluded atmosphere right in the heart of the vibrant city of Inverness.
This idyllic retreat is nestled on the leafy banks of the River Ness, just ten minutes from the world-famous Loch Ness and its tales of a mysterious monster lurking in its depths. Highland hospitality is one of many gems to be discovered at Ness Walk, not least of which is the Grade B listed building itself. Originally a 19th-century house, it has been lovingly restored to unify its magnificent period features with contemporary architecture in a flawless fusion of old and new.
A passion for local produce is at the core of Ness Walk’s dining experience, and the quintessentially Scottish cuisine at Torrish – a firm fixture on the Highlands’ gastronomic map – is not to be missed. The Torrish bar is equally alluring, its open fire, high corniced ceilings and lavish furnishings providing a coolly sophisticated setting for indulging in a wee dram of Scotch whisky or a signature Ness Legend cocktail (well, when in Rome…).
