The Wordsworth Restaurant
The Wordsworth Restaurant is more than a room, it’s an experience that has been central to dining and entertaining for generations. This ornate restaurant is an instant spirit-raiser with domed ceiling, airy lantern, glittering chandeliers and fireplace. Even the double oak doors with stained glass are an invitation to sample the pleasures which lie beyond. This two AA rosettes restaurant is where guests can dine from our seasonal à la carte menu, with larger or smaller groups easily accommodated.
The glorious grade II star-listed Victorian Orangery has become a destination venue in its own right. Now fully restored, it is light and airy by day, and glitteringly romantic by night. Up to 130 guests can dine beneath the Orangery’s glass, timber and ornate wrought iron ceiling. The maximum table size is 14 and includes nearby easy seating if you wish to round off your Orangery meal with a pot of coffee.

This internationally famous nature reserve provides one of the most important wildfowl sanctuaries in Great Britain, regularly holding in excess of 20,000 waterfowl.
The reserve occupies shoreline and shallow water lagoons along 9 miles of the western end of Rutland Water reservoir and covers a total area of 1000 acres. It was created in the 1970s with the construction of the reservoir. There are currently 31 bird watching hides and nature trails from two visitor centres.
