A long distance walking trail that runs between the market town of Chipping Campden in the north and the city of Bath in the south. The 102 miles trail runs for most of the length of the Cotswold escarpment, passing through many picturesque villages and close to a number of historic sites.
At Ellenborough Park, luxury hotel in Cheltenham, service is attentive without being intrusive. Each and every staff member is highly trained to offer unparalleled service, with a genuine desire to exceed expectations. It is an ethos which extends throughout every aspect of the hotel.
Ellenborough Park as an estate has been described as a ‘pretty manor place’ in 1533 by the King’s Antiquary and in 1796 as “one of the greatest curiosities in the country” by Samuel Rudder. The main house is mostly early sixteenth century with priceless masonry and woodwork which gives the building old-world charm. Refurbishments have been made over the past 500 years and this has created a truly unique country house hotel.
Ellenborough Park is an ancient house on the original Cheltenham racecourse estate and has been beautifully restored to reflect its long history of over 500 years. The country house hotel is situated at the highest point of the Cotswold hill range making it ideal for hikes and walking trips. Views from the hotel look out upon 90 acres of parkland including the private track across fields to Cheltenham Racecourse.
The hotel has 61 rooms in total; types include Traditional, Classic, Luxury, De Luxe and four Suites. Some rooms include four poster beds and sprawling views, others feature marble-bedecked bathrooms, roll-top baths and all rooms include Noble Isle amenities.
The Great Hall is ideal for Afternoon Tea during the day, early evening cocktails and after dinner night caps. The room includes antique chandeliers, log fire and the Minstrels Gallery which spans one entire end of The Great Hall.
The Restaurant, the 3 AA rosette awarded restaurant features oak-panelled walls and original fireplaces whilst the culinary offering is central to the luxurious experience provided for guests and has been the creative home for a number of chefs in the tradition of fine dining over the years. Fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients are at the heart of the cooking in the kitchen making every meal an exquisite taste picture of the very best of what the Cotswolds has to offer.
