The Michelin-starred Lake District hotel Holbeck Ghyll has been recognised for its outstanding service and contribution to food at a major regional awards ceremony.
The team from the Windermere retreat picked up a Judges’ Special Award for Outstanding Service, while Head Chef David McLaughlin was commended for retaining the restaurant’s Michelin star for 13 consecutive years, with a Special Award in the Cumbria Life Food
and Drink Awards.
General Manager Andrew McPherson said, “David is highly deserving of his award and to be acknowledged for our service – in particular our ‘outstanding’ service – means a great deal to us all. While the location and views take care of themselves, David and his team maintain incredibly high standards day-in, day-out and the way we look after our guests at Holbeck Ghyll is absolutely crucial. We have a happy and talented team and every one of my staff deserves such recognition”.
