Go Walking In Lancashire

By 19th September 2013 No Comments
Northcote Manor

Lancashire is the perfect spot for a weekend away walking.

The stunning Ribble Valley provides plenty of walking trails, the perfect activity for a weekend of getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoying some of the best of the British countryside. Within the valley are the historic market towns of Clitheroe and Longridge and many quaint villages. The area is also home to some of the best food and drink in the North West, those interested should check out the Ribble Valley Food Trail.

Fell walking is very popular in the area and for those interested Dunsop Bridge in the Forest of Bowland provides the perfect place to start or finish your walk. The Whitedendale Hanging Stones and Middle Knoll are great sites to see and offer something else for those who do not wish to do any serious fell walking.

Northcote is a fantastic place to stay and provides a warm and welcoming environment after a long day of walking in the countryside. This small hotel (which won Pride of Britain “Hotel of the Year” for 2013) contains 14 comfortable rooms, some of which have their own private garden terrace! The dining room offers fine dining with professional but true Northern hospitality.
