At this time of year, there is nothing quite like curling up in a cosy corner and getting lost in a good book.
Start with an oversized armchair. ‘The Sloucher’ from Loaf is an excellent choice – get it upholstered in plush midnight velvet for a decadent, wintery feel or pale rose vintage linen for a softer look.
The next thing you need is big, super-soft throw (think: cashmere, wool, alpaca and mohair). The Markham Throw from The White Company ticks all the boxes and would look smart layered over the sofa when not in use.
Next you need the warm glow of an elegant light. Pooky is the place to go for affordable and well-made decorative lights in all shapes, sizes and patterns. These bright sparks have recently collaborated with Farrow & Ball and are now offering a selection of their wooden lamp bases in 21 top-selling colours from the paint powerhouse.
Last but certainly not least, make yourself a cup of piping hot tea (ideally served in one of the petal palette monogram mugs from anthropologie) and curl up and head off on whatever adventure your book takes you on – all from the comfort of the cosiest reading corner around.
