Christmas At Maison Talbooth In Essex

With its breathtaking position overlooking the Stour Valley this Victorian country house hotel has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment. Maison Talbooth in Essex opened in spring 2008 with renewed vigour and a great deal of wow factor. Three new suites have been built on the second floor making 12 bedrooms in all, many with beautiful views over the Dedham Vale.

Champagne reception with canapés at 12.15pm

Butter poached lobster
salad of fennel, apple and golden raisins

Fillet of halibut
chestnut, artichoke barigoule, cavolo nero

Traditional whole roast turkey carved in the restaurant
with roasted cocottes, chipolata and bacon roll, cranberry and bread sauce Seasonal vegetables

Homemade Christmas pudding
coated in brandy sauce and thick double cream
or
Mango and coconut cheesecake
Malibu and pineapple sorbet
or
Selection of British and Continental cheese
fig and raisin bread and pear chutney
