Best Garden Accessories

By 5th April 2018Articles, Lifestyle, News

With spring just around the corner, it’s time to make sure your garden is primed to look its best. From chic furniture and colourful parasols to contemporary planters and fire pits, there are plenty of simple ways to ring the changes.

Sitting Pretty

Make the most of your garden with a comfortable seating arrangement. Choose a sunny spot and make sure you have the ability to add shade with an elegant parasol or a chic awning. For bijou terraces, courtyards and balconies, try a modern colour pop – we love John Lewis’ zingy Porto Bistro Outdoor Table and Chairs set in Palm, £229, or the minimalist Wire Lounge Chair in Dusty Rose, £185, from Out There Interiors.

For a cool modern-retro look, try its Dawnalee Bloomingville Metal sofa in Black too, £625, and pair it with the Diancia Concrete coffee table in Grey, £310. Lovers of classic style won’t go wrong with a simple metal dining set – try switching up the colour for a fresh look. We’re taken with Wilko’s affordable four-seater table and chairs in Sage, £120.

All in the detail

For a whimsical yet practical flourish, invest in one of East London Parasol’s flamboyant garden umbrellas, made in India and Bali in a host of pinks, palm and peacock prints, greens and chevrons, each finished with metallic tassels and fringes. Try the Marvin parasol in hand block printed cotton, £312, or opt for a vibrant cushion or two, such as the Pink & Grey Peacock. If the temperamental British weather doesn’t play ball, be prepared to turn up the heat. Cox and Cox’s dramatic Raw Steel Firepit, £375, promises to age naturally over time to create a weathered patina and it also includes a useful steel grill shelf for outdoor dining.

Complement the look with its set of three Tall Ribbed Zinc Planters, £175, which look equally at home in country gardens or city terraces. For the ultimate in elegant tableware, linens and garden tools, head to Petersham Nurseries: we love its cooper trowels and forks, from £50. Finally, for a fun twist, try serving drinks in Not on the High Street’s witty plastic Jam Jars with Straws, £3.50 each.
