If you fancy a walk, climbing or simply glorious scenery, the Isle of Skye is a particularly famous mountain area to visit. 9,000 people live on the island but because of its popularity it is home to cottage museums, many craft shops and water sport activities such as canoeing, windsurfing and yachting. In addition to this there are historic exhibits, nature trails, Dunvegan Castle (open all year round) and plenty of places to stop and eat along the way.
