Northcote Manor aims to "take the stress out of life" by providing comfort and luxury, along with as much or as little activity as a guest wishes, and all in the rural surroundings of North Devon.
The house dates back to the 18th century, and has a long and fascinating history, which is depicted in a series of colourful murals on the restaurant walls. Its hillside setting and pastoral views make for delightful surroundings. The house is reached along a meandering, wooded driveway, and the smooth lawns, mellow stone and wisteria-clad walls offer a warm welcome to visitors.
The Taw River provides high quality fishing, several fine golf courses offer different challenges, and the hotel can arrange riding and a range of other traditional country sports including falconry, shooting and stalking. The local race courses of Exeter, Newton Abbot and Taunton are also within easy reach.
Northcote Manor recently won "Devon Venue 2008" in the prestigious Westcountry Wedding Awards.
For those preferring to relax indoors, aromatherapy and a range of beauty treatments are another restorative option.
