Follow the Tarka Trail

Try following the least well known but arguably the most peaceful and tranquil part of the Tarka Trail. Leave the historic town of Torrington and head along the old railway line towards Petrockstowe and Meeth.  Alternatively join the trail in Bideford and follow the river to the beauiful Instow estuary and beyond to the bustling town of Barnstaple.  The trail offer diverse and picturesque North Devon scenery with a variety of long and shorter walks along a flat and beautifully maintained disused railway.  Take a champagne picnic to enjoy along the way or return to the hotel and indulge with a champagne afternoon tea in front of crackling log fires.  £240 per room per night inclusive of dinner, breakfast and either picnic or afternoon tea with a half bottle of bubbles.
