Situated on the Duke of Devonshire's 30,000 acre Bolton Abbey Estate in the Yorkshire Dales, The Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel boasts 40 luxury bedrooms, each individual in style. From the affectionately named 'Old Wing' which dates back to 1757 where you'll find fantastic charm and character, to the modern 'Wharfedale Wing' which was added by the then Duchess of Devonshire in 1982 and refurbished by the current Duchess of Devonshire in early 2009.

Wining and Dining: Two of the most highly regarded restaurants in Yorkshire; the refined Burlington with a Michelin Star and 4 AA rosettes, or the Devonshire Brasserie and Bar which is lively and colourful is a delightful contrast. Common to both is the excellence of the food, a superb wine list and dedicated attention from enthusiastic staff. Fresh local produce including Estate meat and game with seasonal vegetables and herbs from our kitchen gardens are used to offer you an outstanding adventure of tastes and textures in the Burlington restaurant. The refined Burlington Restaurant with a Michelin star and 4 AA rosettes and the Devonshire Brasserie and Bar, lively and colourful, a delightful contrast. For a lighter bite, our three lounges serve sandwiches and afternoon tea all day. Choose from the Cocktail Lounge, Dog Lounge or Long Lounge.

Directions by road

Five miles east of Skipton and 16 miles west of Harrogate. The hotel is located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, on the B6160, 250 yards north of the junction
with the A59.

It lies within easy reach of the M1, M6 and M62 motorways. Those travelling from the north-west should take the A65 to Skipton.

Cavendish Room - max. 100 guests

The oak panelled room is a gracious yet business like room that’s popular for both daytime and evening events.

The Clifford Room - max. 30 guests

With its rich aqua and gold decor, antique mirrored sideboard, luxuriously upholstered seating and chandelier lighting is an impressive venue whether for a boardroom meeting or private dinner. A combination of natural daylight and contemporary lighting. Set slightly apart from the main hub of the hotel’s lounges it is convenient for the kitchen for food and drink service and also for bringing in displays and equipment from outside.

The Hartington Room - max. 20 guests

A beautiful light and airy room with stylish contemporary decor, smart charcoal wallpaper, deep aquamarine soft furnishings and well padded chairs.

The Barden Room - max. 12 guests

Adjoining and with striking coral furnishings, this room can be used alone for small meetings and dinners or as a break out/reception room in conjunction with Hartington. At night, when the floor length silk curtains are drawn and the candlelit tables set with crisp white linen, silverware and contemporary crystal, all the rooms offer an atmospheric setting for private dinner parties.
