About Barnsley House Hotel & Spa
Barnsley House, a Grade 2* listed house built in 1697, is located in the charming village of Barnsley, four miles north-east of Cirencester in the heart of The Cotswold Hills. Once home to the internationally-acclaimed garden designer Rosemary Verey, this luxury hotel now offers 18 beautiful letting bedrooms, most of which overlook, or open onto the world-famous gardens and include the much photographed Laburnam Arch.
The Potager restaurant offers delicious food and stunning views, alternatively there is our very own traditional Village Pub just across the road - both serving fresh vegetables supplied daily by the team of gardeners straight from the Barnsley House gardens.
Tucked away in the secluded grounds and a short stroll down a winding path from the main house (passing a Gothic summerhouse and a private 30-seater cinema along the way) The Garden Spa features five treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna, relaxation room, lounge area whilst outside there is a stone terrace and a hydrotherapy pool. Guests can gaze out over the Cotswold landscape and the spa's own garden which features a sculpture made from old walling stone and a reflecting pond with waterfalls.
Available for exclusive use, Barnsley House is more your very own countryside retreat than a traditional hotel. Please note that Barnsley House does not accept children under the age of 14.
