About Ashdown Park Hotel

Set within 186 acres of lakes, secret gardens, manicured lawns, woodland trails and uninterrupted views, Ashdown Park Hotel sits proudly at the heart of Ashdown Forest. Evolving from a 19th century listed mansion house, the hotel provides today's guests with the perfect setting to relax, unwind and indulge.

The sense of grandeur that strikes you on arrival carries through to the palatial lounges and 106 lavishly decorated bedrooms, which overlook the beautiful grounds. All differ in shape, style and décor, and come with thoughtful extras such as bathrobes, mineral water and Molton Brown toiletries.

The Richard Towneley Suite, a sympathetically restored former listed chapel with ornate stained glass windows, is ideal for exclusive meetings and wedding parties whilst the critically acclaimed Anderida Restaurant offers fine cuisine from locally sourced ingredients. Lighter meals are served in the drawing rooms and Fairway Brasserie. Directions by road

From London - Leave the M25 at junction 6 and join the A22 (Eastbourne). Follow East Grinstead, stay on the A22 passing through Forest Row. Two miles after Forest Row, you will come to a set of traffic lights at Wych Cross, turn left for Hartfield at these traffic lights and you will find the hotel on the right, one mile from Wych Cross.

Ashdown Forest Llama Park

Enjoy a unique day out in the beautiful Ashdown Forest and experience stunning scenery. Learn about and interact with the friendly Llamas, Alpacas and Reindeer at the Ashdown Llama Park. Covering 30 acres of beautiful countryside, the park is located just off the A22, about 5 miles from Grinstead.

Sheffield Park Bluebell Railway

The Bluebell Railway was the first preserved standard gauge passenger line in the world. Sheffield Park Station is the best point to join the Bluebell Railway. This is situated on the A275 East Grinstead - Lewes main road, about two miles north of its junction with the A272. The Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Park is well signposted with brown tourist direction signs from the A22 and A23 trunk roads. There is plenty of available parking at Sheffield Park as well as a Coach Park and Disabled Bays.

East Sussex Drusilla Park

Have a great family day out at one of East Sussex' top tourist attractions. Drusillas Park is an animal and child-friendly zoo in the country. Richard Townley Suite - max. 150 guests

The Harry Clarke Suite provides a magnificent setting for lavish wedding banquets and receptions The John Haywood room is located below the Harry Clarke and is licensed for civil ceremonies. Also available to use is a private terrace and the option of using the Summer House with beautiful views across the lake.

Henry Smart & Lady Brassey Suite - max. 70 guests

The Lady Brassey Suite is beautifully decorated and will provide you with an outstanding setting for your special day. Following a Wedding Breakfast in the Lady Brassey, guests then return to the Henry Smart for their evening reception, complete with its private terrace.

Jacob Henniker & Richard de Wych Suite - between 16/40 max guests

If you are planning a more private celebration then the Jacob Henniker room is a perfect choice for your ceremony. The Richard de Wych suite is one of the most intimate rooms available and is suitable for a wedding breakfast.

Summer House

Situated on the lawns, the licensed Summer House is a wonderfully unique venue for your ceremony or drinks reception, and is a stunning backdrop for the perfect wedding day.

Intimate Wedding Package

For wedding parties of up to 40 guests, we have designed the Intimate package to be more in tune with the mood created by a smaller number, and which we hope will allow you to spend more time with your guests and enjoy the day itself.

May we recommend one of our smaller venues, such as the Jacob Henniker, Lady Brassey, Laura Stafford or Richard de Wych Suites. Each one is beautifully appointed and has its own unique period atmosphere and, if you wish, can be decorated to match your own individual sense of style.

Allow our very special Intimate wedding package to prove beyond all doubt that when it comes to a truly romantic wedding, small is most certainly beautiful at Ashdown Park.
