There's always a touch of magic about a private island. Eriska is reached over a causeway - tiny, admittedly,
but the Atlantic does flow beneath the little bridge linking it to the Scottish mainland. The feeling of privacy and seclusion makes the Isle of Eriska seem much more remote than a mere two hours' drive from the cities of Glasgow or Edinburgh. This small oasis of tranquillity really is the perfect place for unwinding.
On this little island, Highland cattle graze, badgers visit the terrace nightly for refreshment, and grey seals swim in the surrounding waters. Distant islands form the backdrop to Eriska's golf course, and other activities include shooting and croquet.
Those who wish to take to the water may arrange sailing, or enjoy other watersports in the area. An indoor swimming pool and gymnasium, sauna, steam room, as well as an aromatherapy suite mean there's no excuse for being lazy here! But there's every excuse for simply relaxing.
Similarly the drawing room, the comfortable bar and the dining room are equally tempting, while the family atmosphere assures you of a warm welcome.
